Boost Your Digital Intelligence is a project funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission with a duration from July 2024 to December 2025. The B-Digi! project aims to empower and support vulnerable youth in accessing employment opportunities within the digital economy by enhancing their digital skills and competences.

The consortium consists of two NGOs and one SME from 3 different countries (Cyprus, Romania and Croatia), whose members have many years of experience in research and education in different fields. In this sense, the consortium makes a unique cross-sectoral and transdisciplinary partnership which can provide fertile ground for implementing innovative project ideas, sharing best practices and thus create added value at the EU level.

Objectives

 

The concrete project objectives are to:

  • Increase the digital readiness, resilience, and capacity of youth and more specifically youth in need
  • Strengthen the employability of youth in need by developing their digital skills and competences
  • Promote equal access to transition in the labour market for youth in need through digital skills development
  • Support youth employability, inclusion, and diversity in all fields of education, training, youth

These objectives are linked to the priorities that have been selected in the following ways:

  • Addressing digital transformation through development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity: Youth in need will develop the digital skills and competences they need to thrive in the digitalized world
  • Strengthening the employability of young people: Youth in need will develop the digital skills and competences they need to be more competitive in the labour market
  • Digital skills and competences: Digital skills and competences that are most in demand in the digital economy will be developed
  • Equal access to transition in labour market: Youth in need will overcome the barriers that they face in accessing and participating in the digital economy
  • Youth employability: Youth in need will develop the skills to find and maintain employment
  • Inclusion and diversity in all fields of education, training, youth: The project will be inclusive of all youth regardless their background or circumstances
Target Groups

Target Groups

The target groups of the project are:

1) YOUNG PEOPLE

  • aged 18-30
  • who are not in any kind of employment, education or training (NEETs),
  • who are vulnerable with regard to their chances of accessing work or training for individual or structural reasons (e.g.disability, long-term unemployment, insufficient school performance/vocational skills, migration background)
  • who are committed to developing their key digital competences with the aim of finding their way to the job market, while at the same time staying mentally and emotionally safe and healthy,
  • with the ability to influence peers and the community and to disseminate the project’s results

2) YOUTH WORKERS

  • aged 18+
  • professionals or volunteers who work with young people to support their personal and professional development;
  • who possess sound knowledge of current youth issues;
  • who are seeking to develop competences in the field of digital intelligence,
  • who show interest in the non-formal methodology;
  • with the ability to transfer the newly-acquired skills and competences to young people in their working environments,
  • capable of influencing other young people, the community and stakeholders to promote personal, social and professional transformation of young people.

3) NGOs and SMEs in the field of inclusion, youth education, research and training that will further use project deliverables

Outcomes

The expected outcomes and results are:

  • At least 90 youth in need will participate in digital skills training programs
  • At least 75% of participants will improve their digital skills and competences
  • At least 25% of participants will find employment and at least 4 will start their own businesses within one year of completing the training program
  • Resources and tools will be developed and shared to support youth in need in developing and using their digital skills
  • To raise awareness of the importance of digital skills for youth in need among policymakers, employers, and the general public

This project has a significant added value on a EU level by:

  • Contributing to the EU’s Digital Single Market strategy
  • Helping to reduce youth unemployment
  • Promoting social inclusion and diversity
  • Providing a model for other EU states to follow

The project also contributes to the EU’s Sustainable Development Goals by:

  • Promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all (SDG 8)
  • Reducing inequality within and among countries (SDG 10)
  • Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all (SDG 4)
